I just got done tweaking some of the points in my Manifesto and added a new one about evidence. As before, the Manifesto is a work in progress; your feedback is welcome here since you can’t post comments to pages in WordPress.

Hi Matt,
I like it. I think it might be useful to slightly jigger the language around “disprove assertions” to more explicitly point at science and the study of nature, in that the formal sciences (logic, math, statistical theory, information science, etc.) still are very much engaged in proof of assertions. Whatchyou think?
I don’t think it is fair to say no one is working on foundations. There are many people doing good work on it like my graduate advisor, maybe you just don’t know them.
@Alexis
I see the distinction that you’re making, and up until recently I would have insisted on it myself. Lately though I’m beginning to have my doubts about the notion of proof even in math and logic, especially at the margins. I expect to be writing more about this as time goes by.

If you, or anyone else, knows of interesting work being done in this area by all means send me the references.
